THE LEGEND OF THE "BLACK BEAR"
At that time, when dense forests ran through the Krems Valley, a fierce bear ruled here, causing fear and terror throughout the entire valley.
So it happened that one day a beer truck was attacked by the same bear and the two servants had to flee. Meanwhile, the bear took possession of the beer barrel and feasted on the barley juice. This incident was repeated until the beer transports to the Krems Valley had to be stopped.
Then an innkeeper came up with the clever idea of voluntarily placing a barrel of beer in front of the back door of his pub for the wandering bear and, lo and behold, the monster took up this gift, kept showing up and began to become downright tame.
The beer delivery could be resumed, the beautiful Krems Valley was one danger poorer and in honor of the clever landlord his pub was henceforth called: "Zum schwarzen Bären".
